New Post at AITS: Aligning Projects with Organizational Strategy

AITSBloggingAllianceMy latest post at AITS was published today. It addresses the (growing) role of the project manager in aligning projects with organizational strategy. PMI spends a lot of time “making project management indispensable” by talking with business leaders, and they find that expectations in the C-suite are evolving. This is what drove the recent changes to the PMP exam and the continuing certification requirements program. Over the coming year, I think project managers will see a growing need for business acumen and skills like managing up and financial analysis, in order to facilitate better portfolio management decisions. I’ll write about these topics, both here and at AITS, and other topical matters with a little more frequency in 2016.

Thanks again for taking the time to read my stuff. If you have any comments on this particular article, please leave a comment at AITS. If you want to suggest future topics, please leave a comment below.
